ENUGU—The Enugu State Police command,yesterday, arrested a 35-year-old,Nneka Ifeoze, who allegedly burnt her nine years old housemaid’s buttock with a hot electric iron for eating the food meant for her two years old baby boy.
We learnt from a neighbour that the quick intervention of the Police saved the woman from being lynched by residents of the area when they heard that the woman bashed the little housemaid because she was accused of eating the food meant for the woman’s two years old son.
Confirming the incident , the State’s Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, Ebere Amaraizu, said the housemaid allegedly ate the food meant for the suspect’s two-year-old son, an action that infuriated Nneka Ifeoze.
“The madam (Nneka Ifeoze) allegedly came back to discover that her two-year-old boy under the care of the house help was assaulted as the house help ate the food meant for him. The suspect became angry and headed for her plugged pressing iron, unplugged it and put it on her buttock. The action left her with series of injuries.
“Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention while we will prosecute them as soon as investigation is concluded,” Police spokesman assured.
