THE police in Lagos State have arrested a twenty-five-year-old electrician, who returned to rob a household where he had earlier worked.
He said his decision was informed by what he saw in the house.
The suspect, Seun Joshua, was arrested by policemen from Ijaiye divisional police station, after one of the occupants of the building raised the alarm.
Joshua was arrested with a locally-made pistol, which he carefully tucked in a school bag.
The suspect, while speaking with Lagos Metro, confessed that he was with the weapon when the policemen arrested him.
He, however, claimed that he found the pistol at a refuse dump site in Sango area of Ogun State, where he had gone to work.
Joshua also stated that he returned to rob his victim, after noticing that they had things that he could easily sell.
“I saw the gun around Sango Toll Gate when I went there to work. I put it in my bag when I went to the place.
“I know the house very well. I am an electrician. I worked in the building with my boss before.
“I only wanted to go and steal there. I did not intend to use the gun but I met the woman at home and she raised the alarm,” he said.
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, confirmed the arrest of the suspect to newsmen.
The police boss also added that six live ammunitions were recovered from him, adding that he would be arraigned in court as soon as investigations were concluded.
